Bhubaneswar: The COVID-19 toll in Odisha touched 8,325 on Friday with three more deaths due to the deadly disease being confirmed in the last 24 hours.
According to Health Department sources, one each death has been reported from Bhubaneswar, Angul and Balasore.
Here are the details of the deceased after an audit:
1.A 42 years old male of Angul district who was also suffering from Hypernatremia & Seizure Disorder.
2.A 76 years old male of Balasore district who was also suffering from Chronic Kidney Disease, Diabetes Mellitus & Hypertension.
3.A 77 years old male of Bhubaneswar who was also suffering from Coronary Artery Disease with Post Percutaneous Transluminal Coronary Angioplasty & Hypertension.
Notably, Odisha has reported 6,440 COVID deaths during the second wave against 1,876 in the first wave last year.
There were 346 casualties due to the disease in the state in September. Similarly, 2,056 fatalities were registered in August, while July saw 1,903 deaths, June 1,272 and May 737, said sources in the Health Department.
The second wave of the pandemic has claimed the lives of 43 children and adolescents in Odisha. As many as 13 of these deaths were reported between August 10 and 31.
