Keonjhar: In a gruesome triple murder, a man, his wife and daughter were allegedly killed by some family members over a land dispute at a village in Odisha’s Keonjhar district.
As per police sources, the incident took place at Nialijharan village under the jurisdiction of Ghasipura police station on Sunday. The deceased man has been identified by police as Jitendra Soren.
The three were killed by using a sharp weapon by their family members and the prime suspect has been detained by the police.
While dispute over land and property was stated to have led to the crime, the exact reason behind the triple murder can be ascertained after a thorough investigation, a senior police officer said.
After getting information about the crime, a team from Ghasipura police station rushed to the spot and launched an investigation. Further details are awaited, according to Keonjhar Superintendent of Police Nitin Kusalkar.
