Jajpur: Three members of a family died while two others suffered grievous injuries after the car in which they were travelling rammed a stationary truck near Rathia Chhak under Dharmasala police limits in Odisha’s Jajpur district.
According to sources, the accident took place when five members of a family were on their way to Medinipur of West Bengal in a car from Bhubaneswar. At Rathia Chhak, the car crashed into a stationary truck parked alongside the road. Three of them died on the spot.
The injured were rushed to a hospital at Dharmasala CHC. They were later shifted to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack in a critical condition.
On being informed, police reached the spot and seized the vehicles. A probe is underway.
