Kataka: Three school buses were seized in Odisha’s Kataka district on Monday for allegedly plying without valid permits and fitness certificates.
Official sources said that the action was by the Kataka Regional Transport Office (RTO) and the Odisha Motor Vehicle Department (OMVD) during a checking drive in Banki area of the district.
During the inspection, a joint team of officials intercepted three buses carrying school students. After examining the documents of the vehicles, officials found that the private school buses did not possess any valid permit or fitness certificate.
The three vehicles were issued challans and seized during the checking drive by the enforcement authorities.
After being seized, the vehicles have been kept at ATS, Naraj, as per procedure. Steps are being taken for suspension of Registration Certificates.
