3-Tier Security Ring Thrown Around Odisha Assembly For Budget Session From Tomorrow
Bhubaneswar: Odisha Assembly has been put under 3-tier security ring for the budget session to begin from Monday.
In-charge director general of police Arun Sarangi reviewed the security arrangements for the Assembly on the day. It was revealed during the review that besides the Assembly building, its adjacent areas will also be covered with security network with deployment of police force.
As many as 28 platoons of police will be deployed in the area during the session that is scheduled to continue till February 13. Personnel of Special Operation Group (SOG), Striking Force, Quick Action Team (QAT), bomb disposal unit, dog squad and Fire Brigade will be deployed to ensure security.
The CCTV cameras have been installed on the roads from the Assembly to Lower PMG, Rabindra Mandap square and other connecting lanes to keep a watch on movement of people.
Besides, 5 temporary police control rooms have been set up at Assembly gate, Lower PMG, Rabindra Mandap gate and other places. They will be responsible for security during agitation, rallies and protests during the session.
Check posts have been erected at two gates of the Assembly. Police will also be deployed on the roof top of the Assembly and armed police will keep 24×7 guard. The movement of vehicles on all 5 routes to the Assembly will also be diverted during the entire Budget session.
While Bhubaneswar DCP Prateek Singh will be in overall charge of the security, he will be assisted by 8 additional SPs, 16 ASPs, 20 Inspectors and more than 100 personnel.
