3-Tier Security Ring With 30 Platoon Force For 1st Session Of 17th Odisha Assembly
Bhubaneswar: Elaborate security arrangements have been made and 30 platoons of force deployed for the first session of the 17th Odisha Legislative Assembly beginning on Monday.
While a three-tier security cover has been put in place in and around the Assembly building in Bhubaneswar, a total of 30 platoons of police forces have been deployed as part of the tight measures, police said.
Sources said Director General of Police (DGP) Arun Sarangi himself visited the Assembly complex and took stock of the security arrangements on the eve of the budget session of the state Assembly.
The police chief also held a meeting regarding security measures with senior officials, including Commissioner of Police and Bhubaneswar DCP.
As part of the arrangements, bomb squads, dog squads, striking forces and SOG Jawans have also been deployed. Armed police forces have also been deployed as the entire Assembly complex has been put under CCTV surveillance
All the roads en route to the Assembly will be diversified. The protesting areas in Master Canteen and Lower PMG have been kept under CCTV surveillance.
As many as three barricades have been put up to bar the protestors from breaking into the Assembly premises. Apart from it, barricades have also been put in place around the Assembly. Armed forces have been deployed at the entry points of the Assembly
Proper arrangements have also been made to ensure a smooth flow of traffic during the period and some restrictions will be enforced on movement of vehicles near the Assembly building during the session, the sources added.
