Bhubaneswar: Three universities from Odisha have found place in top 100 national ranks of the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) for 2020.
Going by the ranking announced by Union Minister for Human Resources Development Dr Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’ on Thursday, Siksha ‘O’ Anusandhan (SOA) has been placed at 20th rank, followed by Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT) at 24th and Utkal University at 96th position.
All the three universities are based in Bhubaneswar. While SOA has scored 53.10, KIIT bagged 52.33 and Utkal University 40.05.
Indian Institute of Science, Bengaluru has topped the chart with 84.18 score with JNU, Delhi coming second with 70.16 and BHU, Varanasi third with 63.15. These universities have retained their positions of the last year.
It was a big jump for both SOA and KIIT over the last year’s performance. SOA has progressed from 24th rank last year to 20th position while KIIT has moved ahead by seven ranks from 31 last year.
However, this year’s ranking marks a huge success for Utkal University, which has made it to 96th rank from remaining out of the list last year.
