3 Universities In Odisha To Get New VCs

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government is gearing up for the selection and appointment of new vice-chancellors (VCs) in three universities in the state.

As per official sources, the tenure of the present VCs of Utkal University, Rama Devi University and Gangadhar Meher University is coming to an end this month.

As these posts are going to fall vacant, Governor Raghubar Das, who is the Chancellor of state-run universities in the state, has asked the Higher Education Department to initiate the process for the appointment of the new VCs.

The office of the Governor has asked the Higher Education Department to accelerate the process and complete the appointment process soon to ensure that academic activities are not affected in the three universities.

Notably, absence of VCs is likely to affect developmental and academic activities in the universities. Therefore, the office of the Governor has given emphasis on the speedy completion of the appointment process.
