3 Women Among 4 Electrocuted To Death In Separate Incidents In Odisha
Bhubaneswar: Three women were among four people electrocuted to death in two separate incidents in Odisha’s Keonjhar and Mayurbhanj districts on Saturday.
While three women died in Keonjhar, a youth lost his life in Mayurbhanj district due to electrocution, reports said.
Three women belonging to Juanga community of Tangiri Juangasahi under the jurisdiction of Telkoi police station in Keonjhar district had gone to a nearby forest for grazing their goats when they came in contact with live electric wires hooked illegally by someone.
The three died on the spot ant their bodies were recovered by a police team with the help of energy department officials.
The deceased have been identified as Kathi Juanga, Niradhi Juanga and Manjari Juanga. A goat also died due to electrocution.
In another incident in Mayurbhanj, a youth was accidentally electrocuted while he was trying to catch fish using live electric wires in the canal water at Nandurusahi village under Kaptipada police limits.
The youth, identified as Santosh Dutt, had gone to a nearby canal to catch fish along with other villagers. They were sitting on the edge of the canal after dipping live electric wires in the water to catch fish when Santosh fell into the canal. He was rushed to a hospital where doctors declared him brought dead, sources added..
