Boden: As many as 30 bonded labourers were rescued by police from Boden bus stand in Nuapada district on Wednesday.
The labourers were being trafficked to Andhra Pradesh in a bus named ‘Maa Durga’ when a police team intercepted the vehicle and rescued the victims. Efforts are on to nab those involved in the trafficking racket, police sources informed.
However, the person who was accompanying the labourers fled the spot, the sources added.
Earlier on March 22 this year, at least 76 labourers were rescued by police from Sirapali and Khariar in the district.
They were later sent back to their respective villages.
