300 Students Take Part In Conference-Cum-Workshop At Bhubaneswar’s Centurion University

Bhubaneswar: Around 300 students and 100 faculty members participated in the Ayush-sponsored two-day national conference-cum-workshop on ‘Advancement in Animal Handling and Generative AI for Pre-clinical Studies’ at Centurion University of Technology & Management (CUTM) here.

Jointly organised by School of Pharmacy and Life Sciences (SoPLS) and School of Paramedics & Allied Health Sciences (SoPAHS), the programme was inaugurated by NISER Bhubaneswar Director Prof. Hirendra Nath Ghosh on June 29.

CUTM Vice-Chancellor Prof. Supriya Pattanayak, Pharmacy department’s Dean Prof. Gurudutta Pattnaik and Paramedics & Allied Health Sciences Dean Dr Soumya Jal addressed the conference gathering, highlighting the importance of the conference.

Among other dignitaries who graced the event were Pro-VC Academics Prof. Biswaji Mishra, Pro-VC Administration Prof. Ajaya Kumar Nayak, Director of the campus Prof. Jagannath Padhi, Director of the Department Prof. Prafulla Nandi and other Deans and HODs of the university.

Delegates, chairpersons and resource persons from outside CUTM shared their experience during the conference-cum-workshop.

On day 1, Abstract Book and Souvenir was unveiled by the chief guest and other dignitaries.

Scientific sessions, comprising workshop, oral and poster presentations, were conducted.

Hands-on-workshop was held in hybrid mode with students being trained by professionals using advanced machineries, equipment and laboratory animal. It was great experience for students as they learnt how to handle animals and understood the importance of Generative AI in pre-clinical studies.

The conference ended with cultural activities and felicitation of resource persons.
