Bhubaneswar: The COVID-19 tally in the Odisha capital touched 7931 on Tuesday with 332 new cases being reported in the last 24 hours.
According to the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC), 172 are linked with previous patients, 159 are local contact cases and the remaining one from CRPF campus with travel history to Jammu and Kashmir.
While 13 more cases have been reported from the 7th Batallion, 11 are from Jharpada’s Jagannath Nagar and over 20 from different slums in the city. Seven more employees of private hospitals have also contracted the virus.
“Further contact tracing is on. Primary contacts and nearby houses are being quarantined, sanitised. These will be under active surveillance,” the BMC said.
The civic body also informed about 163 more patients getting cured of the infection.
With 34 deaths and 4726 recoveries, Bhubaneswar now has 3162 active cases.
