Tiruchirappalli: As many as 38 employees of the main branch of a nationalised bank in Tamil Nadu’s Tiruchirappalli have tested positive for COVID-19, the local civic body said on Sunday.
A mass medical screening camp was held at the branch recently, according to a PTI report.
A senior official of the branch, who had been suffering from other complications as well, succumbed to the deadly virus earlier.
Corporation health officials are in touch with the customers who visited the bank recently. They have been advised to get tested for coronavirus voluntarily.
The disinfection process was completed on Sunday, and the bank may resume operations from Monday, according to the official.
Tamil Nadu has recorded 206.737 positive coronavirus cases so far, of which 52,273 are active while 3409 people passed away.
