Berhampur: Ganjam district reported an overnight spike of 239 COVID-19 cases on Monday. Of these, 39 are corona warriors.
The 39 corona warriors include 11 from Aska, 2 each from Beguniapada, Belaguntha, Berhampur Municipal Corporation (BeMC) and Kabisuryanagar, 7 from Bhanjanagar, 4 each from Buguda and Polasara and one each from Buguda, Chhatrapur, Hinjilikatu, Chikiti and Sorada.
Of the others, 196 were contact cases. These include 33 from Aska, 12 from Belaguntha, 9 from BeMC, 16 from Bhanjanagar, 7 from Buguda, 28 from Chhatrapur, 9 from Dharakote, 5 from Digapahandi, 4 from Ganjam, 9 from Chikiti, 2 each from Hinjilikatu and Kabisuryanagar, 3 from Khallikote, 8 from Patrapur, 4 from Purushottampur, 1 from Sanakhemundi, 19 from Polasara, 5 from Sheragada, 7 from Jagannathprasad, 4 from Rangeilunda and 8 from Soroda.
Besides, four positive cases with outside travel history (Karnataka, Mumbai and Rayagada) were reported from Chikiti block.
Out of the 5,766 positive cases reported from the district so far, 1,959 are active cases and 3,753 have recovered. Meanwhile, 54 patients have died of the disease.
