39 File Papers For 1st Round LS Polls In Odisha & 266 For Assembly; Nominations Begin For Round 2

Bhubaneswar: The process for filing of nomination for five Lok Sabha and 35 Assembly seats for fifth-phase and second round elections in Odisha began on Friday with Election Commission of India issuing a notification in their regard.

According to the state election commission, 39 candidates have filed 75 nomination papers for Lok Sabha seats spread across four constituencies – Kalahandi, Nabarangpur, Berhampur, and Koraput, where voting will be held in the first round on May 13.

A total of 20 nominations have been submitted for Kalahandi LS seat, 10 for Nabarangpur seat, 24 for Berhampur seat and 21 for Koraput. Candidates often file multiple sets to ensure their nomination papers remain valid.

For 28 Assembly seats under these constituencies, 266 candidates have filed 483 nomination papers. The process of submitting nominations ended on Thursday and the scrutiny will begin on Friday. Candidates can withdraw nominations till April 29.

The votes will be cast to elect 21 Lok Sabha members and 147 legislators in Odisha on May 13, May 20, May 25 and June 1. The Odisha government has declared holiday for its employees on these days to allow them to cast votes for Lok Sabha and Assembly elections.

3. Balangir

Birmaharajpur: 7 am to 6 pm

Sonepur: 7 am to 6 pm

Loisingha: 7 am to 6 pm

Patnagarh: For 17 polling stations (7,8,10,12,14,15,19,20, 21,23,33,34,64,66,197,198,215) voting will be held from7 am to 4 pm and the remaining 7 am to 5 pm

Balangir: 7 am to 4 pm

Titlagarh: 7 am to 4 pm

Kantabanji: For 13 polling stations (9,10,98,103,104,107, 109,110,131,136,165, 166,167) voting will be held from 7 am to 4 pm and the remaining 7 am to 5 pm

4 Kandhamal

Baliguda: For 15 polling stations (30-44) voting will be held from 7 am to 5 pm and the remaining from 7 am to 4 pm

G. Udayagiri: For 8 polling stations (65-71 & 71A) voting will be held from 7 am to 5 pm and the remaining from 7 am to 4 pm

Phulbani: For 23 polling stations (98-120) voting will be held from 7 am to 5 pm

Kantamal: 7 am to 4 pm

Boudh: 7 am to 4 pm

Daspalla: 7 am to 5 pm

Bhanjanagar: 7 am to 6 pm

Aska: 7 am to 6 pm
