Bhubaneswar: The first instalment of Rs 5,000 under Subhadra Yojana will soon be credited to the bank accounts of the remaining women beneficiaries, Odisha Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida informed on Monday.
The third-phase disbursement will cover those who have not received the money in the first two phases, she said, adding that more than 1 crore women have applied under the scheme, which ensures financial assistance for those aged 21-60 years, totalling Rs 50,000 over five years from 2024 to 2029.
The process is likely to begin in the first week of November after the October 31 deadline by which the beneficiaries were asked to update their bank details and correct any other mistakes.
The flagship scheme of the Mohan Majhi government was launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on September 17. Around 60 lakh women beneficiaries have received the first instalment of Rs 5,000 under Subhadra Yojana in the first two phases. While around 25 lakh women received the money in the first phase, the amount was credited to bank accounts of beneficiaries in the second phase on October 9.
The second instalment is likely to be credited on International Women’s Day (March 8, 2025) and the third on Rakhi Purnima (August 9) respectively next year, sources said.
