Bhubaneswar: At least four people were seriously injured after a car collided with an auto-rickshaw and then crashed into a road divider near Dhamnagar Chhak on National Highway 16 in Odisha’s Bhadrak district on Sunday.
According to preliminary reports, the accident occurred when the car was travelling from Bhubaneswar towards Udala in Mayurbhanj district.
Following the collision, four occupants of the car sustained grievous injuries. They were rushed to the Bhadrak District Headquarters Hospital (DHH) for treatment.
Sources said an auto-rickshaw allegedly overtook the car, following which the car driver lost control while attempting to avoid the vehicle. The car then hit the divider as it was travelling at considerable speed.
The are likely to be shifted to Kataka for further treatment. The auto-rickshaw driver also sustained minor injuries in the accident.
After receiving information, a police team from Dhamnagar visited the spot and launched an investigation.
