New Delhi: Four young Israeli women soldiers, abducted during the October 7, 2023, attack near the Gaza border, were freed on Saturday as part of a ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas.
Hamas handed over the soldiers — Liri Albag, Karina Ariev, Daniella Gilboa, and Naama Levy — to the International Red Cross (ICRC) after holding them hostage for 476 days.
Masked men paraded the women in front of a cheering crowd and were taken on a stage set up by Hamas in Gaza City before their release. Dressed in military-style uniforms, they carried bags provided by their captors, The Times of Israel reported.
The four soldiers waved and smiled before being escorted into ICRC vehicles, which took them to Israeli forces.

Captured while stationed at Nahal Oz military base, their abduction was filmed by Palestinian operators, highlighting the perilous situation faced by soldiers stationed along the Gaza border.
