4 Members Of Chain Snatching Gang Arrested In Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: The Commissionerate Police on Sunday busted a gang of chain snatchers in the city by arresting four of them.

According to police sources, a team of special squad and Chandrasekharpur police made the arrest in a joint raid. The accused have been identified as Biswanath Barik (23), Arbaj Khan (20), Lipun Sethi (20) and Mangu Behera (23).

The team also seized gold ornaments worth lakhs of rupees, a motorcycle, air pistol and sharp weapons from their possession.

The sources said the arrested youths were involved in several chain snatching cases in the city and its periphery. Further investigation is on to trace other members of the gang.
