4 Odisha Girls In National Hockey Team For Jakarta Asian Games

Bhubaneswar: Four girls from Odisha have made it to the national women’s hockey team for the 18th Asian Games beginning at the Indonesian capital Jakarta from August 18.

They are Deep Grace Ekka and Sunita Lakra (defenders), Namita Toppa and Lilima Minz (midfielders).

The players were selected on the basis of their performance during the 2018 Commonwealth Games, matches during the Spain tour held between June 9 and 18 and selection trials on June 26 and 27.

The national women’s team announced by the Hockey India on Friday are as follows:

Goalkeepers: Savita (Vice-Captain), Rajani Etimarpu
Defenders: Deep Grace Ekka, Sunita Lakra, Deepika, Gurjit Kaur, Reena Khokhar
Midfielders: Namita Toppo, Lilima Minz, Monika, Udita, Nikki Pradhan, Neha Goyal
Forwards: Rani (Captain), Vandana Katariya, Lalremsiami, Navneet Kaur, Navjot Kaur
