Bhopal: A 99-year-old lady was forced to stay on the road for two days after her four sons allegedly threw her out of the house a couple of months ago.
The incident came to light after the elderly resident from Ashok Nagar moved Bhopal district court last week. In the court, the woman sought Rs 10,00
0 as monthly maintenance from her sons to live respectfully till death.
According to the nonagenarian, she had six sons of whom the eldest died, while the youngest is differently-abled. The woman had been staying with the other four sons after her husband’s death in 2001. Among the four sons, two are in government service while two make a living from farming.
“After the death of my husband in 2001, my four sons encroached upon the whole property, including an 8-acre agricultural land and a house in Ashok Nagar. They cursed and harassed me. They starved me. I have been tortured physically and mentally for the past few years,” the elderly woman was quoted as saying by Hindustan Times.
