Cuttack: In a tragic incident, more than 40 students fell sick at Parbatipur village of Kandarei panchayat under Athagarh block in Cuttack district on Monday after consuming stale food in a funeral feast.
According to sources, the children aged between three to 12 years had consumed the food last night and this morning too. After eating, the children complained of stomach pain and started showing symptoms of nausea and vomiting. Their family members immediately took them Athagarh Sub Divisional Hospital.
A medical team has been rushed to the village to examine the food sample. According to medical reports, the children fell ill by consuming stale food. Local MLA Ranendra Pratap Swain and Sub Collector Amiya Kumar Sahoo visited the hospital.
