Cuttack: Hours after the Cuttack administration declared four-day shutdown till July 8, fresh coronavirus positive cases were reported from two prominent hospitals in Cuttack city on Saturday.
According to official sources, another 38 persons from Acharya Harihar Post Graduate Institute of Cancer and six from SCB Medical College and Hospital here have tested positive for the deadly virus.
The cancer hospital had reported 55 COVID-19 cases (53 attendants and patients and one corona warrior) on July 2. A day later, five more cases were detected in the facility.

Two nurses, five patients, an attendant and an employee of the Aahaar Centre on the hospital premises were earlier found infected in the last few days of June. On July 1, six persons linked with previous positive cases of the cancer facility had tested corona positive.
The first COVID-19 case in the cancer hospital was detected on June 24. He was a patient from Ganjam admitted to the emergency ward of the hospital on June 19.
The SCB had also seen two corona warriors testing positive for the virus on July 3.
