New Delhi: A total of 44,877 fresh COVID-19 cases were found in the last 24 hours in India on Sunday. The figure is 11 per cent lower than Saturday’s 50,407 cases.
India’s daily positivity rate is 3.17 per cent, which is marginally lower than Saturday. The weekly positivity rate, however, is 4.46 per cent.
At least 1,17,591 recoveries were seen in the last 24 hours and 172.81 crore vaccine doses have been administered till date.
Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya said that Vaccines for children between 5 and 15 years will be rolled out as soon as the experts advise.
“When to vaccinate and to which age group is decided on the basis of recommendation of a group of scientists. We had implemented its recommendation for the precaution group within one week. We will surely implement its recommendation (for 5 to 15 age group) as and when we receive it,” Mandaviya told reporters in Gujarat’s Gandhinagar.
