Bhubaneswar: Though Odisha has witnessed a downward trend in COVID test positivity rate, the fatalities continue to be a concern with over 40 patients succumbing to the deadly disease daily for the last few weeks.
After a record 48 deaths, the state saw 45 more patients from 15 districts losing the battle to the killer virus in the last 24 hours.
According to Health and Family Welfare Department, Khurda reported the highest nine fatalities, followed by 5 each are from Nayagarh and Puri, 4 each from Ganjam and Keonjhar, 3 each from Bargarh and Sundargarh, 2 each from Angul, Sambalpur and Cuttack and one each from Balasore, Dhenkanal, Jajpur, Jharsuguda, Mayurbhanj and Nabarangpur districts.
With this, the death toll in the state has gone up to 4063.

2.A 54 years old Male of Angul District.
3.A 62 years old Male of Balasore District who was also suffering from Diabetes Mellitus.
4.A 70 years old Female of Bargarh District who was also suffering from Diabetes Mellitus & Hypertension.
5.A 45 years old Female of Bargarh District who was also suffering from Hypertension.
6.A 42 years old Male of Bargarh District who was also suffering from Diabetes Mellitus.
7.A 61 years old Male of Bhubaneswar who was also suffering from Diabetes Mellitus & Hypertension.
8.A 27 years old Male of Bhubaneswar.
9.A 60 years old Male of Bhubaneswar who was also suffering from Diabetes Mellitus & Hypertension.
10.A 71 years old Male of Bhubaneswar who was also suffering from Diabetes Mellitus & Hypertension.

Khurda district has the highest 656 deaths followed by Sundargarh (356), Ganjam (341), Cuttack (287) and Puri (234).
