Bhubaneswar: Agriculture minister Arun Kumar Sahu on Thursday informed the Odisha Assembly that 45,965 beneficiaries of the KALIA (Krushak Assistance for Livelihood and Income Augmentation) scheme were ineligible.
The minister, in a written reply to the question by the Congress member Tara Prasad Bahinipati and BJD members Ashwini Patra and Ananta Narayan Jena, said that 51,05,290 beneficiaries have been provided financial assistance of Rs 5000 each under the KALIA scheme till date, while the total amount paid is Rs 2552,64,50,000.
“During verification of the beneficiary list, it was found that 45,965 beneficiaries were ineligible,” the minister informed.
He said efforts were on to recover the money from these ineligible beneficiaries.
