According to reports, four brothers Sambhu Swain, Raja Swain, Pandab Swain, and their cousin Chandan Swain, were running a fast food shop at Pitala Chhak. On the fateful night, Amiya, Bahan and Sambhu engaged in a verbal duel after Sambhu opposed passing of lewd comments at customers.
