Bhubaneswar: Five-year-old Divyashree Debasish Behera of Puri district has become the first ever Indian to win two titles at the World Rising Stars 2020 in Georgia.
Divyashree defeated contestants from 12 countries to win the Top Model-2020 crown. She also won the award for the best National Costume-2020.
The five-year-old girl’s interest for fashion designing also won the hearts of the judges at the contest organised by Walk For International Designer Brand.
“Dancing, singing and modelling are my hobbies,” she said after winning the titles.
Sources said Divyashree’s parents are IT professionals settled in Bangalore. They taught her fashion designing, costume designing, Odissi dancing and singing.
Her mother now wants Divyashree to participate in the world-level ramp contest and win the Miss Universe title in future.
Recently, another girl from Odisha had made the state proud by winning the IAWA Super Model 2020 title in Mumbai.
Dipti Jyoti Pattanaik of Dhenkanal district, who is a software engineer by profession, overcame strong competition from 30 contestants and was crowned after she got the maximum online votes from the audience.
Padma Shri awardee Ashok Gupta and IAWA chairman Daljit Kaur had conferred her with the crown during the grand finale of the national beauty pageant on January 31.
