Chennai: Tamil Nadu reported 57 new coronavirus cases on Tuesday. 50 of these reportedly have direct links to Tablighi Jamaat event in Delhi’s Nizamuddin.
The number of cases in Tamil Nadu has reached 124, state health secretary Beela Rajesh confirmed.
She informed that 1,500 people from Tamil Nadu had attended the event in Delhi and 1,130 returned back to the state while the rest stayed back there.
515 people have been traced so far. However, many have given numbers that are switched off. The state has requested people to come forward.
All patients are stable, the reports added.
