50% Jump In Daily COVID-19 Positive Cases In Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: The daily COVID-19 cases in the city jumped by about 50% on Friday as 150 persons tested positive on the day against 103 of Thursday.

According to Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC), of the new cases, 117 were from local contacts and 33 were quarantine cases.

Among the local contacts, 12 cases each were reported from Nayapalli and Patia, followed by 7 from Old Town, 6 from Rasulgarh and 5 each from Baramunda, IRC Village, Kalinganagar and Khandagiri.

Of the quarantine cases, Chandrasekharpur and Unit I registered the highest 4 patients each.

While 54 patients have recovered from the disease in the last 24 hours, the city has 765 active cases at present. The total caseload has gone up to 33,193 in the city.

The Capital City had reported 108. 103 and 101 positive cases in the last three days.
