Bhubaneswar: KIIT & KISS celebrated the 9th International Yoga Day 2023 here on Wednesday.
Around 5,000 staff of KIIT & KISS took part in the event this morning.
“India was the land where Yoga originated in ancient times and India has also become the lead nation to give yoga an international platform and arena and now it has become popular across the entire globe. During the last nine years, India has taken yoga to every individual across the world. Yoga is one of the most important aspects of our lives to maintain balanced mind and a healthy body,” KIIT DU Vice Chancellor Prof. Sasmita Samanta said while inaugurating the event.
KIIT School of Yoga staff guided participants through different yogasans, relaxing intervals and meditation.
Two young gold-medallists of KISS, who excelled in Yoga at the recently-held first Janjatiya Khel Mahotsav in KIIT, displayed complex postures to the eager participants.
Senior functionaries of KIIT Group of Institutions and KISS, including KIIT-DU Registrar Prof. Jnyana Ranjan Mohanty, KISS-DU Registrar Dr Prashant Kumar Routray, KIIT-KISS Director General Sports Gaganendu Dash, faculty members and staff of KIIT and KISS were present.
