Bhubaneswar: Former Supreme Court justice V Gopala Gowda will attend 52nd convocation of the Utkal University as chief guest. The prestigious university in Odisha capital is all set for the occasion to be observed on Friday.
As per the programme, Governor and Chancellor of the universities Ganeshi Lal preside over the function and Principal Secretary, Higher Education department Bishnupada Sethi will be the guest of honour.
Vice-Chancellor of Utkal University Sabita Acharya, PG Council Chairman Durga Shankar Pattanaik, Registrar Abhaya Kumar Nayak, faculty members and students will be present on the occasion. The convocation will begin at 11.30 am at the New Convocation Hall of the university.
Total 99 students of different disciplines and departments will be conferred gold medals and 163 candidates awarded PhD at the convocation.
