54th Inter-IIT Sports Meet Kicks Off On Bhubaneswar Campus

Bhubaneswar: IIT Bhubaneswar is for the first time co-hosting the 54th Inter IIT Sports Meet, which began at its campus on Saturday.

The Bhubaneswar campus along with IIT Kharagpur is organising the meet. It will conclude on December 22.

Union Minister Pratap Chandra Sarangi will formally inaugurate the meet here on Sunday. Ace sprinter Dutee Chand will be the guest of honour.

All the 23 IITs from across the country and as many as 800 students will be participating in various events in the Bhubaneswar and the Kharagpur campus.

According to the IIT Bhubaneswar spokesperson, it is for the for the first time that one of the second generation IITs (IIT Bhubaneswar) will be playing host to the mega meet.

The events lined up are badminton, squash, table tennis and volleyball.
