Bhubaneswar: The surge in COVID-19 cases continued in the Odisha capital, which saw 550 more people testing positive for the virus in the last 24 hours.
The city had seen the biggest spike of 580 cases the previous day. A total of 3206 positive cases have been reported in the last seven days.
The Bhubaneswar Municipal Commission (BMC) on Friday tweeted that the city has added another 243 quarantine and 307 local contact cases.
Of the quarantine cases, 241 are contacts of previous patients while two have travel history to Delhi and Gujarat.
Among them, 31 are media employees and 18 staff of a bank near Rabindra Mandap.
The local contact cases include 11 from Kela Basti and 10 from Brit Colony in Nayapalli. Another nine cases have been reported from IRC Village.
The BMC also informed about 371 more patients getting cured of the infection.
With 46 deaths and 7523 recoveries, Bhubaneswar now has 4822 active cases.
