Earlier, the department of telecom had announced that the 5G services would be launched in 13 cities in the first phase. Recently, the top telecom companies of the country, including Vodafone Idea, Airtel and Reliance Jio participated in the 5G spectrum auction. The telecom companies conducted 5G trials in collaboration with various companies in 2021.
Ruling out fear of radiation, Vaishnaw said it would have 10 times less radiation than the norms set by the World Health Organisation (WHO).
The 5G is expected to benefit the telecom consumers as it will provide service at 10 times speed of 4G. The file which take 56 hours for download in 2G network, two hours in 3G network and 40 minutes in 4G network will take only 35 seconds in 5G network, according to experts.
