6 High-Value Flats In Bhubaneswar, 1.5Kg Gold & Rolex Watch Found During Vigilance Raids On Ex-R&B Chief Engineer

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Vigilance sleuths on Monday unearthed 10 high-value flats in Bhubaneswar & Jharsuguda, seven plots, deposits worth Rs 2.7 crore and 1.5 kg gold during raids in connection with alleged disproportionate assets accumulated by former Chief Engineer, Roads & Building (Civil), Tara Prasad Mishra.

These apart, 2 luxury cars, including Mercedes Benz, branded wrist watches, including a Rolex worth Rs 13 lakh, and foreign currencies of USA, Thailand, Vietnam, UAE, Canada, Mexico, Malaysia & Singapore were found during the simultaneous searches at nine places in Bhubaneswar, Jharsuguda and Cuttack by teams led by 12 DSPs, 12 inspectors, 16 ASIs, and other supporting staff on the strength of search warrants issued by Special Judge, Vigilance, Bhubaneswar.

Assets unearthed in the name of Mishra and his family members are as follows:

1) Flat No.103, Arpan apartment, Nayapalli, Bhubaneswar.

2) Flat No.K-035, 3rd floor at Cosmopolis, Bhubaneswar.

3) Flat No.K-155-A, 15th floor at Cosmopolis, Bhubaneswar.

4) Flat at Falcon crest, Bhubaneswar.

5) Flat at Grand Awas, Bhubaneswar.

6) 2 Flats at Assotech, Bhubaneswar.

7) Flat No.17, Ashiana apartment, Jharsuguda.

8) Flat No.207, Ashiana apartment, Jharsuguda.

9) Flat No.307, Ashiana apartment, Jharsuguda.

10) 7 plots in upscale areas of Bhubaneswar, Cuttack & Jatni.

11) Bank deposits over Rs.2.7 crore.

12) 1.5 kg gold

13) Rs 6 lakhs in cash

14) Foreign currencies of USA, Thailand, Vietnam, UAE, Canada, Mexico, Malaysia & Singapore unearthed.

15) Rs 80 lakh spent on Medical education for his daughter (MBBS & MD).

16) Branded wrist watches, including a Rolex worth Rs 13 lakh.

17) 2 luxury cars (Mercedes Benz & KIA Seltos).

The measurement and valuation/assessment of the flats/plots are being carried out by Vigilance Technical Wing. Other deposits and investments in shares and Mutual Funds are being ascertained, an official release said.

Raid are currently on at these nine places in Bhubaneswar, Cuttack and Jharsuguda:

1. Residential house at Flat No. 103, Arpan Apartment, Nayapalli , Bhubaneswar.

2. Flat No. K-155A, 15th Floor, at Cosmopolis, Bhubaneswar.

3. Flat No. K-035, 3rd Floor, Cosmopolis, Bhubaneswar.

4. Flat No. 307, Ashiana Apartment, Jharsuguda.

5. Flat No. 17, Ashiana Apartment, Jharsuguda.

6. Flat No. 207, Ashiana   Apartment, Jharsuguda.

7. His parental house at Athagarh, Cuttack.

8. House of his relative at Tigharia, Cuttack.

9. House of his another relative at Plot No. 1191, Nilakantha Nagar, Nayapalli, Bhubaneswar.

SERVICE DETAILS OF TARA PRASAD MISHRA:

Mishra joined as Assistant Engineer on 20.04.1984 and joined in the O/o- Chief Engineer, (R&B), BBSR. He was posted at Dhenkanal (R&B) Subdivision from 1986- 92, then Bhubaneswar municipality from 1992-95, then Charbatia division from 1996-99 , Gunupur division from 1999-2000, then transfered to RD Department, Cuttack and he worked from 2000-2003, then Quality Control division from 2003-07.

On his promotion to the rank of EE, he was posted at IDCO( 2007-09), at Bhawanipatna division (2009-13), Panikoili division from (2013- 19).On his next promotion to the rank of SE, he was posted at cuttack from 2019-21, then promoted to the rank of C.E, (R&B), Bhubaneswar where he retired from Govt service in the year June, 2023.
