Puri: At least six people sustained grievous injuries in an explosion at a firecracker-making unit of Bilipada near Pipili in Puri
district on Wednesday.
Those injured were rushed to Capital Hospital in Bhubaneswar for treatment. Their condition is stated to be critical.
According to local residents, the victims were engaged in making crackers when the explosives went off due to possible friction between chemicals used in the firecrackers. The reason behind the blast, however, is yet to be ascertained.
