6 Youths Arrested For Online Betting In Odisha’s Deogarh

Deogarh: Police have arrested 6 youths for allegedly running an online gambling racket in Odisha’s Deogarh district.

According to sources, a team from the Model police station in Deogarh town conducted a raid on a rented house at Lalusahi where the racket was run by the six youths on Saturday.

Besides arresting the youths, the police seized 12 smart phones, 21 SIM cards, 8 ATM cards, 3 bank passbooks, 10 account notebooks, Rs 5,200 in cash and 2 motorcycles.

The youths had opened an office in the rented house and were luring the people by promising to earn money through online gambling, betting and lotteries. Several people had lost huge amount through betting, the sources said.

The police have registered a case and started further investigation.
