Nabarangpur: A seven-month-old baby girl of Fupu village in Nabarangpur village was rushed to Indravati project hospital here when her condition deteriorated after being branded with hot iron on Friday night.
According to reports, Abhi Amanatya and Daimati Amanatya consulted a village quack suspecting that the baby was suffering from stomach ailment. The quack applied hot iron on the baby’s tummy, causing burn injuries. As the condition of the child further deteriorated, her parents got her admitted to the hospital.
“The condition of the baby is stable after treatment,” said Dr Pradip KumarPraharaj of the hospital.
