Bhubaneswar: The motion poster of the movie 800 starring Vijay Sethupathi is out, where the star is playing the lead role in Sri Lankan spin legend Muttiah Muralitharan’s biopic.
The makers released a short clip that gives us a glimpse of what we can expect from the film. It showed that the film is set against the backdrop of the civil war that ravaged Sri Lanka for nearly three decades. It also shows how Muralitharan recognised his passion for cricket, undergoing training, and becoming a world-class player.
However, Twitter is not happy with Vijay Sethupathi, for playing this role or even making a biopic on the neighbouring country player.
#ShameOnVijaySethupathi is trending on Twitter, as his fans are very upset with the superstar for taking the role of Muralitharan in his biopic.

Muthiah Muralitharan is a very admirable and lovable man – Vijaygovernment. The Sinhala government has massacred two lakh Tamils in Eelam. There is no other proof than this that #VijaySethupathi can not feel this pain!”

The flag that kills thousands of Tamils, give death threats, treat the minorities as second class…what an audacity that @VijaySethuOffl is proud to bear that blood stain flag on his chest. You are a sell out.#ShameOnVijaySethupathi #BoycottVijaysethupathi pic.twitter.com/tlGIGxPJqQ

The movie 800 was announced in July, and the makers originally had plans to release the film by the end of 2020. However, that was before the coronavirus pandemic.
