Bhubaneswar: The night temperature plummeted to 8.8°C in Rourkela and 9.7°C in Jharsuguda in the last 24 hours, a drop of 9.2°C and 8.6°C respectively in the last 3 days with northwesterly dry and cold winds blowing into Odisha.
The twin cities of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack recorded 18.4°C and 17°C respectively, as against 18.5°C and 17.5°C the previous day, bringing the temperature has come close to normal.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD), however, has forecast a gradual rise in the minimum temperature by 2-4°C during the next 3 days with no large change thereafter.
Yellow warning of dense fog has been issued for one or two places in Koraput, Nabarangpur, Gajapati and Ganjam districts till Monday morning and for Gajapati, Ganjam, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapada, Jagatsinghpur, Cuttack, Angul and Dhenkanal during the subsequent 24 hours.
