Kendrapada/Keonjhar: Three persons were killed in separate road accidents in the state on Wednesday morning.
A two-wheeler rider died on the spot following a collision with a truck at Bauda Square on NH-5 under Marsaghai police limits in Kendrapada district. The deceased was identified as Rasmi Ranjan Mohanty, a resident of Dasamanpur village. Another biker was killed after being hit by an unidentified vehicle at Kalagarh Square near Mahakalpada in the district. Following the mishap, agitated locals blocked Chandikhol-Paradip national highway, disrupting vehicular traffic for more than an hour.
In Keonjhar district, a youth identified as Lokamani Naik was mowed down by a truck when the driver lost control over the vehicle while taking a sharp turn at Purunapani under Sosa police limits. Locals staged a blockade, demanding compensation for the victim’s family.
