Mumbai: Coronavirus has made its way to the Tinselville also. Reportedly, the release dates of Ranveer Singh, Vicky Kaushal and Farhan Akthar’s upcoming films have been rescheduled because of COVID-19 pandemic.

As per the government’s directive, the cinema halls in Delhi, Bihar, Odisha, Karnataka, Kerala and Jammu will remain closed till March 31 in the wake of the coronavirus outbreak.

Predicting a fall in business, the filmmakers have postponed the release dates of their movies. Ranveer Singh’s ‘Jayeshbhai Jordaar’ is now scheduled for an October 2 release, whereas Farhan Akhtar’s ‘Toofaan’ and Vicky Kausal’s ‘Sardar Udham Singh’ are slated to hit the screens on September 18, 2020 and January 15, 2021 respectively.

The producers of ‘Jayeshbhai Jordaar’, ‘Toofaan’, and Vicky Kaushal took to social media platforms to confirm the new release date of their respective films.

Confirming the dates, a post on the official Twitter page of YRF stated, “In the interest of both films and to ensure an ideal theatrical release, #AdityaChopra & @ritesh_sid have decided to release their films on different dates. YRF will release #JayeshbhaiJordaar on 2nd October and @excelmovies will release #Toofaan on 18th September 2020.”

Discussing about his new venture, Vicky wrote, “On March 13th 1940, #SardarUdham singlehandedly assassinated Michael O’ Dwyer in London to honour the lives lost at the Jallianwala Bagh massacre. His story deserves justice onscreen. Keeping that in mind, we will now see you in cinemas on 15th January 2021.”
