Boudh: While the suicide of a minor rape victim girl in Koraput district has triggered uproar across Odisha, another similar incident has taken place in Boudh district.
Sources said a Class IX school girl had gone to her uncle’s village Kudibahal to attend a marriage ceremony on Sunday. Later in the evening, she had gone to a nearby tube well with her aunt to fetch water when she was forcibly taken away and gang raped by two youths inside a nearby forest.
The victim after being released by the two youths at about 10 PM narrated the incident to the family members who lodged a complaint with the Kantamal Police Station.
Acting on the complaint, police rushed to the village for an on-the-spot investigation.
Police on Monday conducted the medical examination of the victim.
Of the two accused, the victim has identified one of them as Parama.
