India Better Than Other Countries In COVID-19 Response: Study
New Delhi: India fares better in its response to check the spread of COVID-19 as compared to other countries including USA, Germany, Italy, Spain, South Korea and Britain, as per an international tracker on respective governmental measures against the outbreak.
The findings were reported by Oxford COVID-19 Government Response Tracker (OxCGRT).
OxCGRT provides a systematic cross-national and cross-temporal scale to understand how national responses have evolved over the full period of the disease’s spread, the Times of India reported.
The tracker collects data on 13 indicators that include how governments have responded on:
— closing schools and workplaces
— cancelling public events
— closing public transport
— launching public information campaigns
— restrictions on internal movement
— international travel controls
— fiscal measures
— monetary measures
— emergency investment in healthcare
— investment in vaccines
— testing policy
— contact tracing.
