No Entry In Delhi Metro Without Aarogya Setu App & Masks!
New Delhi: Post lockdown, it will be mandatory to have ‘Aarogya Setu’ app installed on your smartphone to ride on Delhi Metro. Face masks as well as body temperature checks via thermal screening will also be mandatory, according to proposals by the CISF.
Anyone with flu-like symptoms will not be allowed to board the trains, the proposals added.
The proposed measures are expected to be implemented in consultation with the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) and the Ministry of Urban Development.
The CISF deploys 12,000 personnel in Delhi’s over 160 metro stations.
“Aarogya Setu app with inbuilt e-pass feature could be employed for identification of suspected persons (having COVID-19 infection). Persons with high risks for both spreading as well as contracting infections should be discouraged from using metro,” the plan said.
There will be hand sanitization facilities at all entry points too.
CISF Director General (DG) Rajesh Ranjan told PTI that the plan has been made keeping “speed, safety and security” of the passengers and people working there.
Metallic items like belts and buckles will be removed by passengers and kept inside bags to be scanned by X-Ray machines. Trays will be provided for those without bags, as it is done in airports.
Strict social distancing with at least two meters distance between people shall be maintained, the plan said.
For CISF personnel, there will be at least four PPE suits kept as standby to handle suspected patients. The personnel will wear regular uniforms with full sleeves, gloves and masks. Those frisking passengers will have additional face shield or visor to protect themselves.
“Passengers will be advised regularly to refrain from touching any surface inside the metro stations or trains,” the CISF plan said.
Entire station areas will be sanitized with chemicals every 30 minutes too.
