Bask In Golden Era Of Radio At Intl Fair In City
Bhubaneswar: Come February 12, and the World Radio Day will bring back the memories of yesteryears for many. The fourth edition of the International Radio Fair, the only of its kind in India, promises to be a delight for the public.
From old radios of all shapes and sizes to a radio repair shop, this fair will feature some unique aspects of the radio industry.
“We have tried to bring in many new things this time. If someone has their grandparent’s old radio which is not working, the radio fair will have a repair shop to keep the memory intact. This time, the fair also has a dedicated stall which will sell radios. Besides, if a customer wants, he can design his own customized radio,” says Subrat Kumar Pati, Chief Convenor of the event.
The radio fair will also feature international broadcasters like Voice of America, China Radio International, NHK World Radio Japan, Bangladesh Vetaar, besides a host of other local and national broadcasters.
To attract school children and youngsters, the organisers have planned selfie zones and different competitions at the venue.
“One of our primary is to encourage young children to take up radio as a career. This fair will be a platform for promotion and exchange of culture,” hopes Subrat.
