Corona 2.0 Likely In November, Seasonal Infections To Continue: Experts
Experts across the globe claim that the second wave of coronavirus is likely to begin in November as the deadly virus is like flu and will continue to cause seasonal infections.
Since there are many asymptomatic people who could spread infections without getting diagnosed, therefore, with a high transmission rate it will be difficult to eradicate the virus completely.
“This is very likely to be an epidemic that coexists with humans for a long time, becomes seasonal and is sustained within human bodies,” director of the Institute of Pathogen Biology at China’s apex medical research institute, Jin Qi was quoted as saying by Bloomberg News.
However, by the time the next wave arrives, healthcare systems across the globe will be in a much stronger position. Besides this, face masks, social distancing and hand washing will also become a part and parcel of life until a vaccine is developed, former health secretary, JVR Prasada Rao told Hindustan Times.
The Chinese scientists also claim that the hot weather will not have much impact on the Sars-Cov-2 virus (virus behind Covid-19 disease), but it will lose its existence if exposed to 56 degree Celsius.
According to the World Health Organization (WHO), about 650,000 people around the world die due to seasonal flu every year. Similarly, the new coronavirus will also impact lives in winter season, as claimed by several scientists.
