Expensive Cheese To Snake Wine; You Won’t Believe What North Korea’s Kim Jong Un Eats!
The controversy surrounding North Korean leader Kim Jong Un’s health condition adheres to his waistline. Obesity is believed to be the reason for heart conditions that the 300-pound dictator reportedly has. Strangely, there’s a belief that being fat is symbolic in North Korea and is also intentional for his political image.
Intentional or not, you cannot be size zero with the list of food that Kim Jong Un enjoys:
The best Emmental cheese
Now, North Koreans may be starving but the leader is known to splurge on the most expensive food in the world. Kim Jong Un loves Emmental cheese imported from Switzerland. It is one of the creamiest cheese made from whole cow’s milk and melts very easily. It is not low in fat and is believed to be one of the reasons for his weight issues. Kim went to school in Switzerland and it is likely that he picked up the taste for it there.
Sushi like his father
Kim Jong Un’s father Kim Jong-il, who died of a heart attack, was also known to have a taste for sushi. Kenji Fujimoto, the family’s sushi chef until 2001, revealed to the Daily Mail that Kim enjoyed sushi made with a fatty part of tuna.
Champagne & not the cheap ones
Kim is known to be a heavy drinker. MSN reported that Kim spends $30 million a year just importing high-quality liquors for him and those he finds worthy. He is known to love the brand Hennessy and Cristal, a bottle of which is known to cost around $300.
Brazilian coffee
Kim reportedly spends nearly a million dollars on importing fine Brazilian coffee. After all, there’s not a single Starbucks in capital Pyongyang.
Snake wine for the bed
Wine bottles with dead cobra inside are something many Koreans and Chinese drink. They believe it helps to improve virility. The UK Metro reported that the supreme leader used to drink this to help conceive a second child with his wife.
Kobe steak
If it is steak, it has to the best one for Kim. Fujimoto also said Kim enjoys this unsaturated fat meat which is beef native to a specific area of Japan and as you guessed it is extremely expensive.
Other meat
Ermanno Furlanis, North Korea’s first Italian chef recruited in 1997 made pizzas for the elite, said that Kim and his father loved pizza covered in meat such as salami, pepperoni, ham, and prosciutto.
French cigarettes
How does royalty round up a drink? Not with ordinary cigarettes! French cigarettes from designer Yves Saint Laurent that cost around $44 a packet is what Kim enjoys.
