Puri: The technical core committee of Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) on Tuesday inspected the condition of Garbha Gruha (sanctum sanctorum), Jagamohan and Natya Mandap of Jagannath Temple in Puri.
Following the inspection, ASI director (monuments) A K Patel clarified that Garbha Gruha is completely safe. “There are some problems with air circulation inside Garbha Gruha. Technical experts from Central Institute of Mining Research, Dhanbad, will visit the temple soon and resolve the issue. The remaining work at the Jagamohan will be completed within the next seven days.”
ASI technical core committee chief N C Pal, ASI superintendent H M Nayak and Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) chief administrator were among the committee members, who conducted the inspection.
The committee will also examine the condition of the Rosa Ghara of the temple.
